چکیده

Air pollution is a common environmental problem. Planting trees can minimize the adverse effects of air pollution. Plants absorb and accumulate pollutants through stomata. Biochemical changes in leaves will appear as physiological response plants to that be known by calculating APTI (Air Pollution Tolerance Index) value. This study aimed analyze differences responses five tree species Taman Margasatwa Ragunan (TMR) South Jakarta Universitas Indonesia (UI) Depok Campus well find out proper planted areas with high levels The (Hevea brasiliensis, Manilkara kauki, Artocarpus heterophyllus, Ficus septica, Mangifera indica) were used examine effect parameters (relative water content, leaf extract pH, total chlorophyll ascorbic acid content) observed from each species. value parameter was calculated into equation. H. F. M. indica categorized moderately tolerant plants, kauki included intermediate A. heterophyllus sensitive plant both locations. highest values Thus, recommended polluted area indica.

Analysis of the physiological responses of the plane and willow trees against air pollution in Tehran .

Trees can improve air quality, but at the same time, pollution might put them at risk. Plane(Platanus orientalis L) and willow trees (Salix babylonicaL) are important trees in the green space of Tehran. Plane trees in Tehran have experienced early autumn in recent years due to severe air pollution. The present study, investigated some physiological traits of these trees under study to determine...

Morphological and Physiological Responses of Croton Bonplandianum Baill. to Air Pollution

The air pollution stress around the thermal power plant lead to the significant reduction in size and biomass of root and shoot, photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, intercellular CO2 concentration, photosynthetic pigments and photosynthetic area of Croton bonplandianum. The resulting stresses of air pollution and reduced foliage further affected the over all morphology and physiology of ...

Physiological Evaluation of Apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) Leaves to Air Pollution for Biomonitoring of Atmospheric Quality

Industrialization releases significant amounts of various air pollutants such as F, Cd, Pb, particulate matter, etc., which can in turn have a deleterious effect on a variety of biochemical and physiological processes as well as the structural organization within the cells. Responses from plants species to air pollutants is varied with certain species being very sensitive to such pollutants, en...

Biochemical changes of Conocarpus erectus (combretaceae) in response to gas refinery air pollution as an air pollution indicator

Environmental pollution consists of different types of pollutants in air, soil, and water. Due to the fact that plants can respond to environmental pollution, they can be used as bio-indicators for environmental monitoring. Air pollution in areas with oil and gas refineries nearby is an important problem. This study aims to survey the effects of gas refinery air pollutants on Conocarpus erectus...
